The Livermore Public Library recognized Gail O’Donnell as the 2015 Volunteer of the Year. Gail has volunteered at the library since 2012. During that time, she has planned, prepared and implemented over two hundred children’s craft events at the Civic Center Library, as well as at the Rincon and Springtown branch libraries. Gail is instrumental in creating and posting the artwork for the children’s room bulletin boards. As a dog enthusiast herself, Gail has volunteered to be an assistant in the library’s “Paws to Read” program where children practice their reading by reading to dogs. Her various other volunteer efforts have included preparing materials for the library’s Summer Reading Program and keeping the children’s room closets clean and organized.

Faiz Mohammed has been selected as the Livermore Public Library’s 2015 Young Adult Volunteer of the Year. Faiz originally became a library volunteer when he was in 5th grade. He has assisted with the library’s Summer Reading Program for the past three years and has volunteered for the past two years as a shelf steward. While assisting with the library’s Summer Reading Program, Faiz was often complimented by parents for being so good with the young children and coaxing them to discuss the books they read. Throughout the year, Faiz serves as a volunteer shelf steward at the Civic Center Library, where he helps to keep library shelves neat, clean and organized. Faiz is thirteen years old and attends Mendenhall Middle School.
