E&S Consulting adds Belec In-Spect

E&S Consulting Inc., a forensic and materials science engineering and consulting firm located in St. Johns County for 18 years, announced the acquisition of the state-of-the-art Belec In-Spect, capable of performing chemical analysis of stainless steels, carbon steels, copper- and aluminum-based alloys accurately and quickly.

The new machine performs analysis by optical emission spectroscopy (OES) and is an addition to the analytic tools available at its U.S. 1 South facilities.

Psychiatrist offering treatment

Psychiatrist Dr. Sabrina Caceres of Comprehensive MedPsych Services/Psychological Services of St. Augustine (CMPS/PSSA) announced that Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for depression is now available.

TMS is an FDA-approved, non-invasive treatment for severe depression. CMPS/PSSA is the only provider of TMS in St. Johns County. Caceres also announced that she is now an in-network provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida. In addition, CMPS/PSSA accepts Aetna, Cigna, Humana, United HealthCare and Medicare insurances, among others.

Caceres is a board certified psychiatrist who treats children, adolescents and adults.

Dawn Morrow joins school of dance

Abella's School of Dance recently added Dawn Morrow to its staff of teachers. Morrow will teach ballet pointe, modern, contemporary, lyrical and jazz dance classes Monday through Friday as well as a hip-hop class on Saturday mornings.

Morrow has been dancing for more than 20 years. She grew up in Jacksonville, where she trained, taught at various local studios and danced with the Florida Ballet.

In 2005, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dance career. Her dancing credits include: Nickelodeon's "Victorious," recurring appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," more than 20 music videos, films "Walk Hard" and "Struck By Lightning," national commercials (Coca-Cola, Tampax, and Kia), and a national tour with Keke Palmer.

Abella's School of Dance is located at 1711 Lakeside Ave. Unit # 9.

HCBF Holding Company Inc. to merge with OGS Investments Inc. and Florida Citizens Bank

HCBF Holding Company Inc. (HCBF) and OGS Investments Inc. (OGS) have announced the signing of an agreement and plan of merger, whereby HCBF will acquire OGS and its subsidiary, Florida Citizens Bank, located in Gainesville and Ocala.

Florida Citizens currently has assets of approximately $230 million and seven branch offices in Alachua and Marion counties.

At closing, Florida Citizens will be merged into Harbor Community Bank. Harbor currently has 37 branch locations in Florida and assets of approximately $1.5 billion. Upon completion of the announced merger with Florida Citizens, Harbor Community will have assets over $1.7 billion and more than 40 branch locations in Florida.

Atlantic Dodge donates to Webster

Joe Webb, general manager with Atlantic Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram of St. Augustine, recently presented a check to principal Bethany Mitidieri and PTO president Elizabeth Michalik of Webster Elementary School in the amount of $2,120 for a "DRIVE FOR THE KIDS" fundraising event at the school. Participants earned a $10 contribution to the school by taking a brief test drive in a 2015 Town & Country, Chrysler 200 or Chrysler 300 vehicle during the event.

New Wendy's opens in Nocatee

Wendy's of Florida, owned and operated by Meritage Hospitality Group, announced the opening of the company's franchise Image Activation Wendy's restaurant in Nocatee. The restaurant opened July 20.

Meritage Hospitality Group has more than 160 Wendy's restaurants in seven states.

Back in August 2014, The Wendy's Company announced their plan to revitalize the quick service brand. The brand revitalization includes a new logo, product innovation, fresh packaging, crew uniforms and revived advertising. The new restaurant features bold, sleek, ultra-modern designs. Features of the Image Activation include lounge seating with fireplaces, flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi, Coke Freestyle machines, outdoor seating and digital menu boards.

Ansbacher receives Bill Sadowski Memorial Public Service Award

Sidney F. Ansbacher of Upchurch, Bailey and Upchurch, P.A., was recently awarded the Florida Bar's Bill Sadowski Memorial Public Service Award, which is given by the chair of the Environmental and Land Use Law Section of the Florida Bar "in recognition of an outstanding record of public service in environmental and land use law."

Among Ansbacher's other recent achievements, he was selected as a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, which is limited to attorneys who "have demonstrated outstanding achievements and dedication to the welfare of their communities and the highest principles of the legal profession," and is listed in six categories in the 2014-2015 edition of Best Lawyers in America, including Lawyer of the Year in the field of environmental litigation in the Jacksonville area.

Advanced Medical Laboratories acquires additional laboratory facilities

Advanced Medical Laboratories, an independent clinical reference laboratory offering medical testing services in St. Johns County, recently acquired two additional laboratories in Central Florida, expanding its regional service area.
