Ramp to close as digital sign installed
Traffic on Loop 289 will be affected Thursday as crews install a new dynamic message board.
Work to install the digital road sign on South Loop 289 will continue Thursday morning with the closure of the right eastbound Loop 289 main lane, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Transportation. The on-ramp just east of University Avenue on Loop 289 will also be closed as crews work on the installation.
"The work is part of a $1.4 million Texas Department of Transportation project that will expand the Lubbock District's Intelligent Transportation System by adding 11 DMS and five cameras," according to a news release.
All lanes are expected to reopen to traffic late Thursday afternoon, weather permitting.
