Signagelive launching NFC and beacon integration at ISE16

Signagelive, global supplier of a cloud-based digital signage platform, announced it has incorporated near field communications tags and beacon technology into its system-on-chip and HTML5 software, which it says enables its customers to take static smart signage networks into the interactive world. These latest enhancements will be launched at Integrated Systems Europe taking place at the RAI, Amsterdam Feb. 9-12.

Signagelive also will be demonstrating its cloud-based digital signage platform on a number of partner booths, including Samsung and LG Electronics, according to the announcement.

At this year's event the Signagelive booth will be laid out to replicate a selection of real-world user cases for digital signage, including the retail market, to demonstrate how applications such as assistive point of sale and triggered live TV can enhance the retail experience by encouraging interaction with displayed content.

Signagelive said it has recently collaborated with U.K.-based design and creative agency Mindbomb to develop a bespoke digital signage solution for Yamaha Music with interactive functionality. By layering Mindbomb's Web service and smartphone interface onto its core technology, Signagelive has provided Yamaha Music with a centralized facility to manage both its digital signage network and associated interactive applications, according to the announcement.

Signagelive's cloud-based software platform is written in HTML5 and provides full support for different content formats including static images, HD video, Web pages, IPTV, multizoning for different media types, image layering, RSS feeds, portrait support and screen on and off control. It also comprises enterprise-grade management of SoC commercial panels, optional proof of content and delivery functionality for better network and campaign management.

"Interactive functionality provides retailers with an extremely powerful marketing tool," Signagelive CEO Jason Cremins said in the announcement. "Using Smart Signage displays powered by Signagelive's SoC software, well known high-street brands can cost effectively take their digital signage networks to a new level by giving consumers the ability to interact with displayed content though assistive PoS applications, thus increasing brand loyalty and driving overall sales."
